Strand 2: Wisdom, Knowledge and Skills
Wisdom, Knowledge and skills is the easiest strand to evidence as our children, staff and whole school community demonstrate these areas every single day. However, we don't always capture these moments in a picture or on film but rather in our day to day life. Sometimes we can become to rigid with collecting evidence such as, taking photos, videos etc... instead of living in the moment and celebrating with each other our amazing successes.
The best way to see the wisdom, knowledge and skills of our whole school community is to come and spend some time with us at Stanley St. Andrew's.

Looking beyond
Even if people don't show their love and respect, everyone has the chance, the right and the responsibility to do so. Anyone can do something good. It is hard to always stay on the right track and keep it up all the time, but one or two nice things can make a big difference. This links to the Bible parable of The Sower. You can not always tell someone's personality by their appearance; you need to look beyond the surface to find out who they really are! Our art links to the Bible story The Good Samaritan. The Good Samaritan was a person supposed to be the person who was least likely to help, when actually he was the only one who did.

1st image - This is what the world will be if we don't act quick.
2nd image- However, were there is darkness there is always light.
Why animals matter?
This is about animals and shining light on them bringing them out the dark. No matter how big or small, sea creature or not God made this wolrd and we need to portect it and all that is in it.
Look beyond the world
My piece is about taking it further, asking more, learning about God and finding out more, looking at the world and looking beyond it. God made the universe and the universe is beyond the world tjhis links to the creation story.
Why do animals matter?
Our drawing represents one side is with animals and one side is without animals. As you can see, animals mean a lot to our world. God said in the Bible, everyone is equal, accepted and needed in the world.

Everyone is holding on to the world because they are trying to save the world after people are littering and making it not such a nice place. People are praying to have a safer planet and are praying that they make it a better place.

We thought this section was the most interesting and inspired us. The left half represents a girl in a Barron waste land trying to survive and the only thing keeping her company is her green faith. The right half represents here 20 years later in a lush green field.

We have drawn Noah's Ark with animals and flags which says "animals 4 justice" which means happy animals.

Animals make you feel better when you are sad they can play with you they are a good companion and they help the environment.

If you are feeling sad animals can cheer you up no matter how big or small they are. We need to protect, respect and look after them.
Green Faith Green Future:
I drew this picture based on the fact man was sent down to Earth to take care of it. Earth (here in this picture) is a horrid mess, being half covered with oil dumped into the sea, only having two trees left, being blighted by nuclear waste giving it a green glow, factories and power stations everywhere and one solitary man reflecting on God's words. It serves as a rem,inder that if we keep not taking care of Earth the drawing will become a reality.
Why do animals matter?
The first picture represents how a woman feels lonely with no comfort, but when she's with a cat she is supported. This picture can link with the Islamic story of the Prophet and the cat as the woman is not moving and letting the cat rest. The woman is giving the cat respect and the cats respecting her back. The second picture represents the bird eating the insects resulting in saving the plant from being eaten this links to Noah's Ark as Noah was relieved when the dove brought the branch showing land like the plant was relieved when seeing the insect being eaten saving the plant.
RE workshop:
Year 5 and 6 children worked either alone or together to create their piece of artwork for the Spirited Arts competition and thenthey spent some time unpicking their thoughts and reflections.
Lego Club
Lego Club - a mixture of year groups ranging from Year 1 - 6 coming together to build lego. Every group showed good teamwork, respect for one another resulting in a positive outcome as well as having great fun, age just didn't matter!!

Angelou Trip to Tribe
Angelou had a great time at Tribe. The children completed lots of different activities in the environment, celebrating what they achieved as a team, working well with each other, learning new skills and living out the school values.

Each month we focus on a different school value. As we go about our school day we try really hard to show this value in all that we do. Our children are rewarded for living out the school values and our staff are praised for joining in on this whole school ethos.
This year we aim to help to feed our school community and to think about food waste. We are using the Fareshare to ensure that all our children get access to a range of food products in breakfast and after school club. All our children have access to fresh fruit, vegetables and water throughout the day.
As we create stones to represent ourselves we bring them together to reflect our diverse community.
