Second day in school there are no words to describe the impact that our resources are having on the children. We started off the session with a range of parachute games which caused uproar in the local community, as all the older children came to watch. 

We went in out of the dust and heat to a calm, cool relaxed environment. 

Mrs D taught number with the youngest children, whilst I worked with the older children using cubes to aid counting. The session was hard work as the children were excited about exploring the new equipment. However, the outcomes for both groups was brilliant, they were able to quickly grasp the new concepts whilst practising their English skills. 

It's days like this that you realise how important a community is, as Kirk Hallam secondary school created the shapes which we were able to use to support the children's understanding of number and colour.
